Robert A. Nichols, AIA is the founder of Nichols Design Associates, a Washington, DC–based consulting firm established nearly three decades ago with a mission to make architecture truly accessible. A national leader in Universal Design, ADA accessibility, and DeafSpace design, his work spans educational and institutional projects across the country and has been featured by the American Institute of Architects, ARCHITECT Magazine, and World Deaf Architecture. Through practice and advocacy, Nichols continues to shape more inclusive environments for deaf, deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing communities.
